Black lamp holder for the E27 socket with insulation sleeve. Fixed underneath with a standard M10 thread.
This is the standard lamp holder for E27, made of black plastic. Inside the holder is a base plate that the bulb makes contact with. Unscrew the smooth part to reach the screw terminals on the base plate and connect the copper wires.
Before you connect the wires, it is very important to make sure there is a cable clamp, so no weight rests on the copper wires that are screwed into the lamp holder. If the lamp holder will hang from a cable, use our cable clamp with outer thread. If you screw the lamp holder onto a nipple, the holder usually sits at the other end of the nipple and then has an inner thread.
When you screw the smooth part onto the base, it clicks into place so it cannot be turned off together with the bulb. To take it apart again, press a plastic catch on the inside with a small screwdriver. You need good light to reach this catch, for example a torch.
The lamp holder is not earthed.
